Ashley Yarber is the Director of Bands at Arnold Middle School. She is currently in her eleventh year of teaching, and her third year at AMS. Her primary instrument is the trombone.
Mrs. Yarber currently teaches the Symphonic Winds and Beginning Flute, Trumpet, and Low Brass classes. She assists Mr. Hogan, Ms. Hernandez, and Mr. Landes with the Symphonic Band, Concert Winds, and Concert Band.
A proud alumna of Cy-Fair ISD, Mrs. Yarber attended Cy-Fair HS her freshman year, and was in the first graduating class at Cy-Woods HS when it opened. She is a two-time, 5A Texas All-State Band member, and was a drum major at Cy-Woods for three years. After high school, she went on to study music education at Stephen F. Austin State, and graduated with honors in May of 2013. While at SFASU, she was selected as a winner of the Orchestra of the Pines Concerto Competition, and was also chosen to perform with a select group at the Big 12 Trombone Festival in 2012. She still enjoys playing her trombone, and gigs and teaches private lessons in the Houston area.
Mrs. Yarber is an active member of the Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Band Master's Association, and the International Trombone Association.
Mrs. Yarber is happily married to Mr. Robby Yarber (also a band director in Conroe ISD!). They are the proud parents of two fur babies; a cat named Gizmo and a dog named Big Momma. Mrs. Yarber loves teaching band, bowling, hiking, coffee and all things food.
